Weekend at Magnolia
Who doesn’t love all things Chip and Joanna Gaines! It all started with the classic fixer upper series. Now you can immerse yourself in the Magnolia Network. For all of those who love all things Magnolia going to Waco is on your bucket list.

My husband and I planned a trip to visit at the start of Spring at the Silos! We had beautiful weather and were lucky enough to get to stay at Hotel 1928. I loved watching them redo the hotel and I can attest it is as beautiful in person.
Hotel 1928
Our stay at Chip and Jo’s hotel 1928 was perfect! It was a 10 minute walk from the silos. We took advantage of walking there since the weather was nice. The staff were friendly and the amenities were beautiful!

The room was filled with moody colors, velvet couches, and the perfect finishes. Each night they send a turn down service with hotel 1928 slippers, fresh cookies, and a glass jug of water.
We chose not to eat in the hotels restaurant, Brasserie. I had my heart set on multiples trips to Magnolia Table and the food trucks. The morning we left we stopped in to the hotel cafe for coffee and pastries. We enjoyed iced white mochas and their seasonal apple pecan scone. All of it was delicious!
Don’t forget to stop by the hotel library and its many other sitting areas to relax a bit. They have created such a cozy place to read, chat, and enjoy coffee.

The Silos
A day at the Silos is dreamy! So many places to visit around the grounds and everywhere you look it’s beautifully manicured. Its beauty and the joyfulness of the staff sets this trip apart. Its so refreshing to go somewhere that joy is all around you!

Don’t forget about the beautiful church building Chip and Jo restored. You are welcome to walk through and take a peek at all its gorgeous detail!

Shopping at Magnolia
Let’s be honest, how can you not love the shopping at Magnolia. They have their original store that carries all their dreamy home decor. They also have expanded to a Magnolia Home store where you can see their larger home pieces displayed.
The quaint little shops are all beautiful and each have their individual feel. The flower shoppe houses the most stunning silk flowers that look lifelike. A souvenir shop to grab your hats and t-shirts. For the boys Chip has a store of curated items called No. 16. And my personal favorite, the art of entertaining. Filled with all things kitchen!
Spring at the Silos brought some special surprises. Their were artist set up all around the Magnolia grounds displaying their artwork. Most were creating new pieces you could watch. I bought a beautiful framed piece from Michelle Boyd Studio. You can find her artwork here.

Dining at the Silos
If you travel to Waco just know that you are about to eat some good food! Jo has a cooking show for a reason. You can start your day sipping on coffee and eating delicious pastries from Magnolia Press. The chocolate croissant and cinnamon sugar donut holes were the perfect start to the day.

If you want to stay on the grounds to eat the options are many. The food truck area it beautiful and filled with so many options it will be hard to chose. If we had been able to we would have eaten at different food trucks another day.
Pop’s lemonade is one of the best I have ever had. The perfect combination of sweet and tart. We stopped and grabbed some chocolate covered strawberries for a snack the first day as well.

You cannot beat the Cheddar Box food truck. Their sourdough grilled cheese with tomato soup was the perfect mid day meal. My husband went next door to Di Capli’s and grabbed some chicken Alfredo. Both were so good and we would grab them again.
Let’s not forget about the Silos Bakery. We honestly ordered way too much because we wanted to try a lot of different items. I wasn’t impressed with the cinnamon roll. It was lacking the ooey gooey center and had very little icing. The lemon whoopie pie and oatmeal cream pie were delicious. But….those cupcakes were definitely the best!!! I ate every bite of the strawberries and cream cupcake!

Magnolia Table
Back in 2020 my husband and I were on our way to a dental conference and we stopped in Waco briefly. The one thing I remember was our breakfast at the Magnolia Table. It was truly memorable.
I immediately made a reservation for breakfast one day and supper the next night. It did not disappoint. If we lived near this would for sure be a frequent stop for us.

Supper was just as delicious! We had the mini biscuits with honey butter and the onion ring stack with spicy ranch for appetizers. I got Chips smash burger and my husband got the fried chicken plate. Every bite was so good! If you eat anywhere when in Waco, I highly recommend Magnolia Table.

The Castle
Once we were on the Magnolia grounds I realized you could tour the castle. I loved watching the show of them renovating this beautiful historic home. This tour was the perfect addition to our trip.

Our tour guide was fun and very knowledgable. Every room was even more breathtaking in person then on tv. Seeing all the little details in person was my favorite. Our tour guide even told us she spent the night before our tour prepping for a special tour guest for that night! I highly recommend taking this tour!

They also have tours of the Gristmill where she films her cooking show. The beautiful gardens at the Silos can also be toured.
Magnolia in Waco, TX is the perfect weekend getaway for couples or a fun girls trip. I enjoyed every minute of my stay and would for sure go back in the future!
