The perfect biscuit is something everyone needs in their recipe box. These cast iron biscuits are absolutely delicious, tall, and fluffy. The best part is that they come together so quickly. That means these are the perfect thing to make for breakfast, lunch or dinner in a pinch.
These are so yummy with butter and jam. Some of our favorite ways to eat them is with sausage or sausage gravy. The most indulgent way to eat these biscuits is with ice cream and sugared strawberries. Its my husbands favorite birthday dessert. You can find that recipe here.

How to Make Quick Cast Iron Biscuits



Step 1: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. In a medium sized bowl stir together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 2: Cut butter into small pieces.
Step 3: Cut the butter into the flour. I like to use my hands for this.



Step 4: Make a hole in the center of the flour mixture. Pour in the honey and milk. Mix till just combined.
Step 5: Press the dough out onto a floured surface into a 9 inch rectangle.
Step 6: Fold 1/3 of the dough into the center. Then fold the other third on top of it. Press back into a 9 inch rectangle. Continue this two more times.



Step 7: Be sure your dough is rolled out about an inch thick. Butter a 10-12 inch cast iron skillet.
Step 8: Cut the biscuits into 8-9 biscuits.
Step 9: Bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Longer if you prefer a darker biscuit.
Notes for Making Quick Cast Iron Biscuits
- You can make these biscuits with einkorn flour. I have made them before and they only change the texture a little.
- These make a great base for strawberry shortcake!
- Make sure you leave the dough thick enough. You want them tall and puffy after they bake.

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp honey
- 1/2 cup cold butter
- 1 cup +2 Tbsp milk or buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and butter a 10-12 inch cast iron skillet.
- In a medium sized bowl stir together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut butter into small pieces and cut butter into the flour.
- Create a hole in the center of the flour mixture and add your honey and milk.
- Stir till just combined and add the dough to a floured surface.
- Press into a 9 inch long rectangle. Fold 1/3 to the middle and then the other 1/3. Flatter and repeat this folding method 2 more times.
- Flatten the last time and make sure its about 1 inch thick. Cut into 8 biscuits. Place into buttered cast iron.
- Bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Longer if you like them crispier. Brush with butter and honey when they come out if preferred!
Notes
- I have made these biscuits with einkorn flour before and they turn out good. It creates a little different texture but it still a good substitute.
- These make a great base for strawberry shortcake!!
