Christmas time just isn’t complete without a big bowl of puppy chow, But this dessert isn’t just for the Holidays. Puppy Chow makes the best sweet treats for teachers, birthdays or parties. With just a few simple ingredients you have one of the most addictive treats you will ever have. I have absolutely no control when I make this and can make myself sick. I suggest just going ahead and making a double batch while you’re at it.

The best part about this sweet treat is that it requires no baking. All you need is a microwave or stovetop to melt the ingredients. It’s also very customizable and you can add M&M’s, Reese Pieces, or sprinkles to make it more festive.

Tools You May Need

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Gallon Ziploc Bag
  • Silicone Spatula ( I love these)
  • Measuring Cups
Puppy Chow Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 6 oz (1/2 bag) chocolate chips
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ stick butter
  • 6-7 cups (3/4 box) Chex Cereal
  • 1 ½ c powdered sugar

Step by Step Instructions

  1. In a large microwave safe mixing bowl add the chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Microwave this until everything is melted stirring every 30 seconds to ensure you dont burn the chocolate.
  2. Pour in the Chex cereal to the mixing bowl and stir until combined. This can take a few minutes to get the cereal completely coated.
  3. Either in the mixing bowl or in a large Ziploc bag add the Chex Cereal mixture and powdered sugar. Stir or shake the Ziploc bag to coat evenly. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. (I can assure you it wont last that long)

Ingredients

  • 6 oz (1/2 bag) chocolate chips
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ stick butter
  • 6-7 cups (3/4 box) Chex Cereal
  • 1 ½ c powdered sugar

Instructions

    1.Microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter until melted.

    2.Pour over Chex cereal and coat.

    3. Then either in the same bowl or using a Ziploc bag coat with powdered sugar.
