Fruit Tea
If you live in the south you probably grew up drinking sweet tea. This fruit tea is an elevated and refreshing version of that. It’s perfect in the summer on a hot day. Our family always has this at every birthday, holiday and party. It’s a crowd pleaser and you will want to make this for your next get together as well!
What is fruit tea? Well it can mean a lot of things for different people depending on what fruit you choose. Some make a berry based tea while others add mint for a refreshing taste. Ours is made with pineapple and citrus. Also I do need to warn you, this drink is VERY sweet. You will be shocked at the amount of sugar that goes into this drink but promise me it will be worth it.
What you will need:
- Instant Tea
- Pineapple Juice
- Orange Juice
- Lemon Juice
- Sugar
- Water
How to Make Fruit Tea?
First you want to make the tea. You will start by adding the instant tea, water and sugar to a saucepan. You will slowy heat up the tea to a low simmer. Once the sugar is dissolved you can remove from the heat and cool while you get the other ingredients ready.
Next you need a large bowl or pitcher to mix the tea in. Add your orange juice, lemon juice and pineapple juice. Stir to combine and then add in your tea mixture.
Once everything is combined just chill and serve as desired. The best part about this recipe is it makes a little over a gallon. I always pour the extra straight into a glass over ice and enjoy!
You can always serve this in a large gallon glass pitcher or in a punch bowl. I like to use glass cups to serve this in because of how beautiful the color is. If serving at a party or baby shower it would be a great idea to throw in some sliced oranges or pineapples for garnish. There is no shortage of options when it comes to making fruit tea.
