Chocolate Butterscotch Crockpot Candy
This butterscotch crockpot candy is so simple to make and you will want to add it to your Christmas treat boxes every year!
Crockpot candy can be made year round for all kinds of events but I think we are most familiar with this special treat at Christmas. I first heard of this candy one year when my mother-in-law made some for our Christmas party. It was so simple with just peanuts and chocolate but I kept going back for more. When I decided to finally make this myself for some goodie bags I jumped on Pinterest to get exact measurements. To my surprise there were about 100 different variations of this candy. I loved looking at all the different combinations people use such as chocolate peanut butter or adding in toffee pieces.
I decided since one of my other favorite Christmas treats is chow mien noodle cookies I would try adding butterscotch chips to mine. And let me tell you I am glad I did because it was AMAZING! I get so many complements on these even though they couldn’t be easier. These crockpot candies are perfect for teacher gifts or to make for a party. I added mine to my Christmas cookie boxes. Whatever the reason you decide to try these you will not be disappointed!

Tips and Tricks
- The best part about crockpot candy is that you can substitute just about everything for something else. You can add peanut butter, toffee pieces, dark chocolate etc. Whatever combination you want will work here.
- Same goes with the nuts in this recipe. I love just using peanuts and they are more economical but you could use a combination of walnuts, cashew, macadamia or pecans.
- If you are making these for a special occasion I love using themed mini muffin liners and sprinkles.
