Smothered Green Beans
These smothered green beans are so quick and easy to throw together. The sweet and savory sauce paired with the salty bacon is sure to be a hit!

If you’re like us its easy to get stuck in a rut of what to make for dinner. We always tend to make the same easy sides over and over again but its nice to have some different ways to switch it up. These smothered green beans are the perfect weeknight side item to make that will impress the whole family.
I love a dish that is sweet, savory and has a nice salty punch. The brown sugar gives it a great sweetness but the bacon takes it to a whole other level. This dish can be made with fresh green beans but if your short on time and don’t want to get the cutting board and knife out than I suggest using canned green beans. If you are from the south like us than you are no stranger to a side of green beans at the dinner table. This make plain canned green beans taste so much better with minimal effort. (See in notes instructions on how to make this in large batch for potlucks or family gatherings)
