I love a Big Mac, but let’s be honest do we even know what they put in them. Instead of spending money on fast food that is terrible for you and cost too much, we love having these Big Mac salads instead. They are inexpensive, simple, and quick.

Grab you a good size bowl and add a heaping handful of nice butter lettuce. Cook the ground meat of your choice. I used to only do ground beef but recently I have been using ground chicken for less calories and more protein. Highly recommend! My favorite toppings are dill pickles, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and of course, the special sauce.

Why You’ll Love These Big Mac Burger Bowls

  • Simple- Nothing says week night meal like making something that is super simple. No looking at recipes cards or slaving over the stove. Cook some meat, stir the ingredients for the sauce, and layer your salad. Its that simple!
  • Quick- The cooking portion consist of browning meat which only takes a few minutes. I can have these bowls done in under 20 minutes any night of the week.
  • Meal Prep- My personal favorite part of these is how easy they are to meal prep. I always make extra meat to have these ready to go in my fridge. The next few days I simply layer my ingredients into a bowl, top with meat, and the Big Mac sauce. I truly make these at least every other week!
  • Inexpensive- In today’s world this is a big deal. A supper that taste great but doesn’t have a ton of ingredients that ends up costing you lots of money. I usually have all these ingredients on hand except the lettuce and tomatoes. I just add them to my grocery list and make sure I have ground meat in the freezer to thaw. If not ground meat is one of the most inexpensive ways to get meat into your diet.

Ingredients

Big Mac ingredients
  • Pickles- I love the combination of the dill pickles on top of the salad, but the sweet pickle relish in the dressing. The perfect combination of sweet and tart.
  • Ground Beef- I put ground beef because that’s what we all think of when we hear Big Mac. I personally have been making mine with ground chicken for less calories and higher protein. Taste just as good!
  • Lettuce- I do not like shredded lettuce. It’s a personal preference of mine to use something like butter lettuce. However, if shredded lettuce is your thing just switch it up.
  • Kinders- This is not necessary to use. However, if you like a burger from Krystal then I cannot suggest this enough. It gives the meat such a great flavor!
  • Onions would also be a great addition to this salad. I love onion but I prefer this without it.
