Kamut Banana Bread

This banana bread is not only moist but nourishing. I love any excuse to use my kamut flour in our diet.

We have spent the last few years trying to make most of our food from scratch. When doing research on our ingredients we came across this ancient grain called Kamut. Kamut knorasan wheat is an ancient grain that is guaranteed to never be hydridized or genetically modified. It is always grown organically and is know for its nutrition. It is believed to have a more digestible gluten and is better for you gut. For these reasons and just overall amazing flavor we love using this in our baked goods when we can.

This bread is made in one bowl and is quick to throw together. This simple bread is sure to be one that you keep coming back to. Its perfect to make in a pinch when you need a last minute breakfast or snack. I love making this to take to people who are sick in bed. Top this with some honey cinnamon butter to take it up a notch.

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Dinner Fork
  • Spoon or Spatula
  • Bread Pan
  • Non Stick Spray

Tips and Tricks

  • Top the bread with raw sugar or brown sugar before you bake it for a nice crust.
  • Every bite is moist, soft and fluffy. Top it with honey cinnamon butter for a little extra goodness.
  • Our favorite kamut flour to use is from The Food Nanny. It is the perfect substitute for all purpose flour. Our favorite recipes to use of hers is the chocolate chip cookie recipe or her pizza crust.

Ingredients

  • Kamut Flour
  • Bananas
  • Brown Sugar
  • Butter
  • Baking Soda
  • Baking Powder
  • Egg

Step by Step

  • In a large mixing bowl mash bananas with a fork. Once mashed add in egg, vanilla and brown sugar. Once butter is cooled add that into the bowl and mix.
  • Now add the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Mix until well combined.
  • Add to a sprayed bread loaf pan and bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. *I love topping mine with some raw sugar or brown sugar before baking.

Ingredients

  • 3 Bananas
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/3 cup melting butter
  • 1 1/4 cup Kamut Flour

Instructions

    -Mash Bananas and then add egg, brown sugar and vanilla. Mix well

    -Once butter is cooled to room temperature add to bowl and mix well.

    -Add baking soda, baking powder and kamut flour and stir until well combined.

    -pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.

Notes

I like to top mine with raw sugar or brown sugar before baking.
