The nostalgia of chocolate pudding with an elevated flare! The perfect quick afternoon pick me up for you and your kiddos to feed that chocolate craving! I hope you’ll try this hot chocolate pudding!

hot chocolate pudding

I remember the snack pack pudding cups from my childhood. The pull back top that you would lick once you pulled it off. I loved chocolate pudding as a kid and took it as a staple item in my lunch to school.

This pudding is sooo much better than those nostalgic pudding cups we had growing up. Not only does it taste so much better but you get to control the ingredients you use. I love feeding my kids something sweet and chocolatey while not having to worry about the fifty ingredients on the label.

I called this recipe HOT chocolate pudding because my family likes to eat it hot. The moment I finished stirring in the chocolate chips they were standing and waiting for their bowl.

If however your kids don’t like it hot, no worries! Store it in the fridge and once it’s chilled it will be just like your normal chocolate pudding. It’s a great recipe to make ahead and have ready for the next day if you want to eat it cold.

Why You Will Love this Chocolate Pudding:

Nostalgic- Its truly an elevated version of something so many of us loved when we were kids! I’m so happy my kids love it as much as I did.

Healthier- I realize this recipe has plenty of sugar in it. However, if you bought this at the store you would have the sugar plus so many other things you can’t even pronounce. This allows you a sweet treat without the junk additives!

Quick- Start to finish this recipe takes me about 20 min. Such a quick snack for my kids in the afternoon or dessert after supper.

Chocolate Chips– These can either be milk chocolate chips or semi sweet chocolate chips. Both will work just fine!

Egg- The egg yolks do not have to be room temperature, but it will help for the eggs not to scramble if they are already at room temperature.
